The race begins and ends in the elegant Alpine town of Cortina d'Ampezzo, host of the 2026 Winter Olympics. Runners depart from Piazza Angelo Dibona surrounded by the towering peaks of the Dolomites in the early morning darkness.

Tre Cime di Lavaredo
The iconic highlight of the course: runners pass directly beneath the three massive rock towers of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The views of these 3,000-meter limestone pillars rising from the scree fields are among the most dramatic in all of trail running.

Forcella Grande (2,255m)
A punishing climb to one of the course's highest points, Forcella Grande demands hands-on-knees hiking through rocky switchbacks. The exposed ridgeline traverse offers sweeping views of the Cadini di Misurina and the vast Dolomite panorama.

Runners descend to Rifugio Vandelli at the turquoise Lago di Sorapiss, one of the most stunning alpine lakes in the Dolomites. The contrast of the milky blue water against the vertical rock walls provides a surreal aid station setting.
