Hannes Namberger is a German trail runner who has won the Lavaredo Ultra Trail three times and is one of Europe's most consistent ultra-distance competitors. Born in 1989, he came up through alpine skiing, reaching the FIS circuit as a junior, before knee injuries ended his ski career in 2011. He transitioned to trail running from 2015.
Namberger trains in Ruhpolding in the Bavarian Alps and runs for Dynafit. His most technically demanding win came at the 2023 Eiger Ultra Trail by UTMB 101km, which he completed in 11:38:35. He followed that with a third Lavaredo Ultra Trail title in 2024 in 11:57:15.
He also won the MIUT on Madeira Island in 2021, demonstrating range across different terrain types. His UTMB Index stands at 900.
