THE STORY

Jonathan Albon is a British trail and ultra runner born on 19 April 1989 in Great Dunmow, Essex. Based in Bergen, Norway, he has collected world titles across obstacle course racing, skyrunning, and trail running, competing at distances from 40 to 100 kilometers.

Albon won six consecutive OCR World Championship titles from 2014 to 2019 and back-to-back Skyrunner World Extreme Series titles in 2016 and 2017. He won the IAU Trail World Championships in 2019, the UTMB CCC in 2023 in 10:14:25, and has taken wins at Transvulcania (2024, 7:03:10), Marathon du Mont-Blanc (2022), and Transgrancanaria (2026). He holds a UTMB Index of 921.

Albon worked as a building surveyor at London Underground stations before turning professional in 2014. He is self-coached and runs the AlbonApp, an online training platform for trail and ultra runners.
