The Transgrancanaria is a World Trail Majors race that opens the European ultra season each February, crossing the volcanic island of Gran Canaria from south to north. Runners traverse an extraordinary diversity of terrain — from arid southern desert and pine-forested ridgelines to misty cloud forests — all within a single island crossing. The race has become a proving ground for the world's best trail runners.
