Meseret Mengistu is an Ethiopian marathoner who won the 2015 Paris Marathon in a personal best of 2:23:26. Born on 6 March 1990 in Sendafa, in Ethiopia's Oromia Region, she began her road running career in 2008.
She represented Ethiopia at the World Half Marathon Championships in 2008 and 2010, winning a team silver medal at the 2010 edition. Her Paris victory in April 2015 improved her previous marathon best by more than six minutes and remains the fastest run of her career.
Mengistu added a second marathon title at the 2016 Beijing Marathon in 2:25:56, then opened 2017 by winning the Xiamen Marathon in China in 2:25:58. All three of her international marathon wins came within a span of less than two years.
