THE STORY

Dylan Bowman, born March 24, 1986, in Reno, Nevada, is one of the most accomplished American trail and ultramarathon runners of his generation. He attended Colorado State University and ran his first marathon in 2009 with minimal preparation. A year later, he finished third at the Leadville 100 in his debut at the 100-mile distance.

Bowman built a career defined by consistency across varied terrain and distances. He won the Ultra-Trail Mount Fuji twice, in 2016 and 2018, took the Ultra-Trail Australia 100K in 2015, and won back-to-back Tarawera Ultramarathon titles. He finished second at the Hardrock 100 in 2021 and collected six wins on the Ultra Trail World Tour over his career.

After more than 15 years of professional racing, Bowman founded Freetrail in 2020, a media and events company focused on trail running. He hosts the Freetrail Podcast and was elected to the board of the Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run in 2021.
