The Rock 'n' Roll Madrid Marathon has been held annually since 1978, growing into one of Europe's largest running festivals with over 45,000 participants across its marathon, half marathon, and 10K distances. Start — Paseo del Prado
The race begins along the Paseo del Prado, Madrid's grand 18th-century boulevard flanked by the Museo del Prado and the Neptuno Fountain. The Cibeles Fountain, one of the city's most recognizable landmarks, marks the opening kilometers.

Parque del Buen Retiro
Runners pass alongside the Parque del Retiro, a 125-hectare royal park in the heart of Madrid and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park's tree-lined perimeter provides shade in the early miles.

Paseo de la Castellana
The course traverses a long section of Paseo de la Castellana, Madrid's main north-south artery lined with government ministries, embassies, and corporate towers. Live music stages are positioned along this stretch.

Km 35 Uphill Challenge
At kilometer 35 the course tilts uphill toward the finish, making this the most demanding segment of the race. The men's course record of 2:08:18 was set in 2019 with a decisive surge through this section.
