Siranesh Yirga is an Ethiopian marathoner who has built her career on wins at international city marathons. She broke through in 2022 with victories at the Lagos City Marathon and the Ljubljana Marathon, where she ran her personal best of 2:21:08.
Yirga won the 2023 Shanghai Marathon in 2:21:28, pulling clear of the field near the 35-kilometer mark to take the biggest title of her career. Earlier that year she finished third at the Dubai Marathon.
Born in 2000, Yirga also races the half marathon, with a best of 1:08:13 set at Ras Al Khaimah in 2024.
