Sheila Chepkirui is a Kenyan marathon runner who won the 2024 New York City Marathon in 2:24:35. She was born on 27 December 1990 and is based in Kericho.
Chepkirui came to the marathon from the track. She won the 5000 metres at the 2016 African Championships and took bronze over 10,000 metres at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Her marathon personal best of 2:17:29 came at Valencia in December 2022. It was the fastest mark in the field when she lined up in New York two years later, and she beat a group that included several runners with faster recent form.
She has since won consecutive titles at the Nagoya Women's Marathon, running 2:20:40 in 2025 and 2:21:54 in 2026.
