Michael McKnight is an American ultrarunner who has become one of the most accomplished specialists at the 200-mile and beyond distance. Based in Utah, he built his resume on the longest races in North American trail running, with repeat victories and course records at the sport's marquee multi-day events.
McKnight first drew wide attention in 2017 when he set the fastest combined time for the Triple Crown of 200s, the summer series spanning the Bigfoot 200, Tahoe 200, and Moab 240. In 2019 he returned to win all three outright, taking Bigfoot in 51:33:45, Tahoe in 50:56:54, and Moab in 59:30:12 for a course record, and lowering his Triple Crown mark in the process. He won the Moab 240 again in 2021 in a course-record 55:49:58 and that same year won the Bigfoot 200 in 57:58:22.
He added the Cocodona 250 title in 2023, winning the 250-mile Arizona race in 69:41:31. After a herniated disc interrupted his career, he returned to the front of the sport in 2026 with a course-record win at the inaugural Arizona Monster 300, covering the 300-mile route in 82:49:45 and averaging roughly 80 miles per day.
McKnight is a longtime member of the rabbit elite trail team and is also known for his work as an endurance coach.
