The Telcel Mexico City Marathon is Latin America's largest marathon, attracting over 30,000 runners to the sprawling Mexican capital. Run at an altitude of approximately 2,240 metres (7,350 feet), the thin air makes this one of the most physically demanding Gold Label courses in the world. The loop course passes through historic Reforma avenue, the grand Zocalo plaza, the Palace of Fine Arts, Chapultepec Castle, and the Angel of Independence monument. The passionate Mexican crowds, mariachi bands, and vibrant street culture create an electric, fiesta-like atmosphere from start to finish.
