The Honolulu Marathon is one of the world's largest marathons, attracting roughly 25,000 finishers annually with an enormous Japanese contingent making up nearly 60% of the field. With no time cutoff, it is uniquely welcoming to first-time marathoners and recreational runners. The scenic course runs from Ala Moana Beach Park along Waikiki Beach to the turnaround at Diamond Head, finishing in Kapiolani Park.
