THE STORY

Quang Tran (Tran Duy Quang) is a Vietnamese trail runner who has won the Vietnam Mountain Marathon 100km five times, making him the most successful competitor in the race's history. Born in Binh Dinh Province, he became the first Vietnamese runner to win the VMM 100km outright in 2017, completing the course in 13:17:35.

Tran trains with the Mude Factory Team and runs 120-140km per week on mountain terrain. He completed the UTMB in 2018 in 32:46:12, finishing as the only Vietnamese runner in that year's field. He later became the first Vietnamese runner to finish the Spartathlon, the 246.8km race from Athens to Sparta, crossing in 31:10:37.

His strongest competitive form came in 2020, when he won VMM in 13:01:11, his fastest time across five editions of the race.
