Nguyen Tien Hung is a Vietnamese trail runner and a three-time winner of the 100K at the Vietnam Mountain Marathon, the largest trail race in the country.
Hung won the distance first in 2018 in 14:45:44 and again in 2019 in 14:33:45. He returned in 2023 to win the tenth anniversary edition in 12:54:04, taking more than an hour and a half off his previous winning time on the same course.
He came to the sport late. Vietnamese media reported that he had been running for roughly two years when he took his first VMM 100K title, and he has competed as an amateur throughout.
The VMM 100K covers 101.6 kilometres with 5,500 metres of climbing through the mountains around Sa Pa in northern Vietnam. The race is part of the World Trail Majors circuit and carries a UTMB Index rating.
