Othmane El Goumri is a Moroccan marathoner who holds his country's national record of 2:04:24, set when he won the 2026 Haspa Marathon Hamburg. The victory made him the first Moroccan man to win the race, in a field where ten athletes finished under 2:06.
Born on 28 May 1992, El Goumri broke through on the roads with a win at the 2019 Dublin Marathon in 2:08:06. He added the 2023 Sydney Marathon title in 2:08:20, two years before that race joined the World Marathon Majors.
At Hamburg he ran a patient race, holding position near the front and taking control in the closing stages as the pace thinned the lead group. The result stands as the fastest marathon ever run by a Moroccan.
