Born 25 December 1981 in Norman, Oklahoma, Camille Herron holds more ultramarathon world records than any other woman in history, across distances from 50 miles to six days. She earned a master's degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Oregon State University and has applied a data-driven training approach throughout her career.
Her records include the women's 100-mile road world record (12:42:40), the 24-hour world record (167.842 miles), and the 48-hour world record (270.505 miles, set in 2023). She is the only athlete of either gender to win all three IAU Ultra Road World Championships: 50K, 100K, and 24-hour. She is a four-time IAU International Ultra Runner of the Year.
At the 2023 Spartathlon, Herron finished in 22:35:21, setting a course record and becoming the first woman under 24 hours for the 246-kilometer Athens-to-Sparta race. In March 2024, she broke the 33-year-old six-day world record with 560.330 miles at the lululemon FURTHER event. She trains in Norman, Oklahoma under the guidance of her husband and coach Conor Holt.
