Gulume Tollesa Chala is an Ethiopian marathoner best known for winning the 2015 Frankfurt Marathon in 2:23:12, an improvement of more than six minutes on her previous best. The victory completed an Ethiopian sweep of the race alongside men's winner Sisay Lemma.
Born on 11 September 1992, Tollesa followed Frankfurt with back-to-back victories at the Hong Kong Marathon. She won her first title there in 2017 in 2:33:39, then defended it in 2018 in 2:29:37, breaking the course record despite arriving at the race unwell.
Her 2:23:12 from Frankfurt remains her career best over the marathon distance.
