MARK DOWDLE WINS 2026 BPN GO ONE MORE ULTRA AT 73 LOOPS

Mark Dowdle won the 2026 BPN Go One More Ultra by completing 73 loops over four days at Nick Bare's ranch in Liberty Hill, Texas. The win covered nearly 490 kilometers and 73 hours of continuous racing.
The finish came down to Dowdle and defending co-champion Kendall Picado Fallas. Both athletes completed lap 72 with only 13 seconds to spare before the next start signal. Dowdle ran the deciding lap in 51 minutes 48 seconds. Picado Fallas pushed a sprint finish on the 73rd lap but did not return inside the 60-minute cutoff. The single-finisher rule of backyard ultra format named Dowdle the last person standing.
The race began on April 10 with 172 starters from across the U.S. and internationally. The format requires a 6.7-kilometer loop every hour on the hour, with athletes continuing until they fail to complete a loop within the 60-minute window. The race stretched into its fourth day before resolution.
The Go One More Ultra is hosted annually on Nick Bare's ranch under sponsorship from Bare Performance Nutrition (BPN). The event has grown into one of the most-watched endurance races in the world through livestream coverage and social distribution.
Dowdle's win extends a strong U.S. men's run at the major backyard ultras in 2026. The format has become a major presence in American ultrarunning, with national qualifying spots tied to performances at events like Big's Backyard Ultra and Go One More.
Picado Fallas's runner-up performance, after sharing the 2025 title, confirmed her place among the elite of the backyard discipline. The Costa Rica-based runner has built a profile across the major backyard ultras in the past two years.
The race format puts a premium on consistency rather than speed. Athletes run roughly four miles per hour, every hour, sleeping only in the 10 to 20 minutes between laps. The cumulative toll typically eliminates most field members within the first 30 hours.
The 2027 BPN Go One More Ultra is expected to return in April 2027 at Bare Performance Nutrition's Texas ranch. Confirmed dates and registration details will be released later in 2026.
