The 130th running of the Boston Marathon belongs to Kenya, on both sides.

John Korir crossed the finish line on Boylston Street in 2:01:52, the fastest men's time ever run at Boston. The defending champion's second consecutive Boston title came with a reset of the course record. Alphonce Felix Simbu of Tanzania took second in 2:02:47, and Benson Kipruto was third in 2:02:50. Korir won last year in 2:04:45, a race he led from wire to wire despite being tripped at the start. Today's effort cut nearly three minutes off that time. The pre-race favorite, Korir now joins a short list of runners to win consecutive Boston titles.

Sharon Lokedi mirrored Korir on the women's side, winning in 2:18:51. The defending champion took back-to-back Boston titles, the first a course record in 2025. Loice Chemnung was second in 2:19:35 and Mary Ngugi-Cooper third in 2:20:07.

Zouhair Talbi led the American men in 2:03:45 for fifth overall, per BAA's official top-Americans listing. Charles Hicks (seventh, 2:04:35) and Clayton Young (eleventh, 2:05:41) rounded out the top three Americans. On the women's side, Jess McClain was the top American in 2:20:49 for fifth place, followed by Annie Frisbie (2:22:00) and Emily Sisson (2:22:39).
