The Montane Winter Spine Race is a continuous, non-stop race along the full length of England's Pennine Way, covering 431 km from Edale in Derbyshire to Kirk Yetholm in the Scottish Borders. Run in January through harsh winter conditions with 10,000 m of elevation gain, the race carries 6 ITRA endurance points and is limited to approximately 200 starters. Established in 2012, it is widely known as Britain's most demanding winter ultra.
