THE STORY

Lisa Migliorini built the largest running audience in Italy by treating running content as a professional discipline rather than a hobby, and she did it from a standing start in a market that had nobody doing it.

Migliorini was born in 1994 and grew up in the province of Novara, in Piedmont. She started running at ten and raced competitively through her teens. Her earliest recorded results are on the track: 6:52.74 over 2000 metres in Milan in April 2013, and 18:38.61 over 5000 metres in Trento that July, both at 19.

She studied physiotherapy at university in Novara and went on to qualify as an osteopath. That training is the part of her work that separates it from most running content. Injury prevention, rehabilitation and load management are subjects she is professionally qualified to discuss, and they make up a substantial share of what she publishes.

The Fashion Jogger started in 2016, created with her partner Fabio Cerutti, also a physiotherapist. Italian running had no meaningful influencer presence at the time. The idea was to combine running with fashion and lifestyle in a single project, told through her own training, races and injuries rather than through brand copy. The name states the premise plainly, and Italian media eventually settled on calling her the Chiara Ferragni of running.

The combination is less superficial than it sounds. Running participation among women in Italy grew quickly through the second half of the 2010s, and the sport's existing media addressed that audience almost entirely through performance and equipment. Migliorini addressed it through the parts of running that surround the training: what you wear, how you fit it around work, how you come back from injury, where you travel to race.

Her own racing continued alongside the content. She ran 10:40.93 over 3000 metres in Milan in May 2016. In November 2018 she ran 1:23:07 for the half marathon in Milan, which remains her personal best at the distance and is a genuinely strong club time.

She moved up to the marathon and has raced it hard, at one point completing four marathons inside six months. Her fastest marathon on World Athletics record is 3:05:10, run at the Tokyo Marathon on March 1, 2026. She has a 10km best of 37:23. Racing the World Marathon Majors became a recurring thread in her work, and she has described her first New York City Marathon as the race that meant the most to her. The Milan Marathon, in the city where she set her half marathon best, is a fixture she has covered repeatedly.

Travel is central to how she frames the sport. She talks about running as a way to see places properly rather than as a training obligation, and a large share of her output is built around races abroad and the landscapes they run through. It is a framing that suits an audience deciding which marathon to enter next as much as how to train for it.

During the COVID-19 lockdowns she launched a YouTube channel built around bodyweight workouts that could be done at home, which broadened the project beyond running at exactly the moment her audience could not run.

Her advice to beginners is conservative and consistent with her clinical training. She points people toward 5K races first, tells them to build distance gradually, and argues that enjoying the process is what produces consistency, which in turn is what prevents injury. It is a notably unglamorous message from an account built on aesthetics.

She has been deliberate about commercial work, saying she accepts only brands she would use herself and turns down campaigns that do not fit, on the grounds that her followers read the difference faster than she does.

Recognition outside Italy followed. In May 2023 she was named Best Sport Influencer in the World at the WIBA Awards during the Cannes Film Festival, a result reported by Forbes. She speaks at fitness industry events including RiminiWellness, the largest in Italy.

Migliorini now works across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube with an audience in the millions, and continues to practise as a physiotherapist and osteopath alongside it. She has said she wants to move up past the marathon into ultra distances.

Her personal bests trace an unusual arc. The track times date from 2013, the half marathon best from 2018 and her fastest recorded marathon from 2026, which means she has been racing seriously across thirteen years and moving up in distance for most of them rather than peaking early and stopping. Creator-athletes commonly run their fastest while the audience is small and slow down once it is large. Hers has gone the other way.

What makes the profile durable is the professional base underneath it. Running influence built purely on training footage tends to expire with the athlete's own form. Migliorini's rests on a clinical qualification that stays relevant regardless of what her times do, which is a large part of why her audience has kept growing well past the point where most running creators plateau.
