Daniel Mateiko is a Kenyan distance runner who has emerged as one of the brightest new marathon talents on the international circuit. A long-time training partner of Eliud Kipchoge in the NN Running Team camp, Mateiko built his early reputation on the track and over the half marathon distance.
He holds a half marathon personal best of 58:17, set in Valencia in 2024, ranking him among the fastest in history over the distance. He finished third at the 2024 Valencia Marathon in 2:04:24, an outstanding performance that confirmed his transition to the marathon. He is a member of the dsm-firmenich Running Team.
