Ashley Paulson is an American ultrarunner from St. George, Utah, who won the Badwater 135 outright in 2023.
Paulson won the women's race at Badwater in 2022 in 24:09:34, setting a women's course record. She returned in 2023 and ran 21:44:35, taking almost two and a half hours off her own mark and finishing first overall in a field that included the men. She was the first woman to win the race outright since Pam Reed in 2003.
The race covers 135 miles from Death Valley to the Mount Whitney portal in July heat, and is run by invitation only.
Before moving to ultra distances Paulson raced Ironman triathlon and ran the 2020 United States Olympic Marathon Trials, finishing 44th in 2:40:07. She works as a certified personal trainer.
