Rémi Bonnet of Switzerland won the 42K in Chamonix in 3:33:14 on June 28, setting a course record. Tove Alexandersson of Sweden won the women's race in 3:55:07 and became the first woman to finish the course in under four hours.

The Marathon du Mont-Blanc climbs 2,540 meters over its 42 kilometers, starting in the center of Chamonix at 6:45 a.m. and finishing on the mountainside above the valley. The race grew out of the Cross du Mont-Blanc, first run in 1979, and now anchors a four-day festival of racing in the valley.

The Men's Race

Bonnet ran 3:33:14 to take down the course record, a mark the race organization confirmed at the finish. The Salomon athlete has built his reputation on uphill speed, and the 42K's long climbs suited him.

The Women's Race

Alexandersson's 3:55:07 made her the first woman to break the four-hour barrier at the race. The Swede is a multiple world champion in orienteering who has moved into mountain running with immediate results.

Her time set a new women's course record for the 42K.

What Comes Next

The 2027 dates for the Chamonix weekend have not yet been announced. The event traditionally returns in the final week of June, with the 42K closing the program on Sunday.
