GRAND RAID DES PYRÉNÉES 2026 RESULTS: TREMONT AND LESCUYER WIN THE ULTRA TOUR 160
Benjamin Tremont won the Ultra Tour 160 at the 2026 Grand Raid des Pyrénées in 25:22:52, leading a French sweep of the podium in the event's 19th edition. Camille Lescuyer won the women's race in 29:16:08 and placed 11th overall.
The flagship race started from Vielle-Aure on the morning of Friday, August 21, as part of a five-day festival that ran from August 19 to 23 in the Hautes-Pyrénées. This year's Ultra Tour course measured about 174 kilometers with more than 10,000 meters of climbing through the cirques of Gavarnie, Estaubé and Troumouse, the terrain our preview described as the race's defining feature.
Men's Race
The Ultra Tour leaves Vielle-Aure on Friday morning and sends runners over a succession of high passes before the long return through the Aure valley. With a 50-hour cutoff, the fastest athletes finish on Saturday morning while the bulk of the field is still on course through a second night.
Tremont reached the finish in Vielle-Aure with a margin of 32:45 over Maxime Hourdebaigts, who clocked 25:55:37. Nicolas Mordelet was third in 26:13:53, a further 18 minutes back. Less than an hour separated the three podium finishers after more than a full day of racing.
The winning time sits well outside the course record. Gwendal Moysan ran 21:49:07 to win in 2025, more than three and a half hours quicker than Tremont, and that mark stands.
Women's Race
Lescuyer controlled the women's race and finished 15:13 clear of Aline Coquard, who was second in 29:31:21. The 2025 winner, Jocelyne Pauly, set the women's record of 27:40:39 last year, and Lescuyer's time was about an hour and a half behind that standard.
Her 11th place in the overall classification put her inside the top dozen of a field that started several hundred strong.
Other Distances
The Tour des Cirques, run over roughly 127 kilometers, went to Victor Maes in 17:04:50 and Coralie Aubrey in 20:17:49. On the 43-kilometer Tour du Néouvielle, Noel Burgos Gómez won the men's race in 4:08:11 and Léa Clercq the women's in 5:18:01.
Winners were also crowned on the Tour du Moudang, Tour du Bastan and Tour de la Géla, the shorter events that fill out the weekend's program.
Looking Ahead
The men's race produced a third different winner in three years after Rémi Gillie in 2024 and Moysan in 2025. Lescuyer's win likewise ends Pauly's run at the front of the women's race.
The 2026 edition adds another chapter to a race that grew from 420 starters in 2008 into one of the largest trail festivals in France. The 2027 edition is expected in late August, with dates not yet announced. Pre-registration for the lottery has opened in mid-January in recent years.
