ADAM PETERMAN AND RILEY BRADY WIN 2026 CANYONS 100K; BRADY SETS WOMEN'S COURSE RECORD

Adam Peterman won the 2026 Canyons 100K by UTMB in 8:18:47 on April 25 in Auburn, California. Riley Brady set the women's course record in 9:41:09, taking the women's title at the Western States Golden Ticket race.
Peterman led a deep men's field that included Zach Miller in second at 8:21:05 and Hayden Hawks in third at 8:23:28. His 8:18:47 fell short of Francesco Puppi's 2025 course record of 8:04:36 but confirms his return to top form ahead of the 2026 Western States 100. The result earns him an automatic Golden Ticket entry.
Brady's 9:41:09 broke the previous women's course mark of 9:46:44 set by Emily Hawgood in 2025. Brady ran alone over the final 25 kilometers to lower the record. The win secures their Golden Ticket entry to Western States and continues a remarkable stretch on the Western States qualifier circuit.

Nearly 700 runners started at 5 a.m. at the China Wall trailhead in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Brisk early conditions gave way to warm afternoon temperatures by the closing miles into downtown Auburn.
Behind the men's podium, Hawks edged Hayden Luo in the final four miles to claim the third Golden Ticket. The Golden Ticket race for Western States 100 entries has historically been one of the more contested storylines at Canyons, with the top three men and top three women earning automatic entry.
Peterman has built his career across the Western States 100 (2022 winner) and the Olympic Marathon Trials, becoming one of the more versatile U.S. ultra and road runners of his generation. His Canyons win sets him up as a co-favorite for Western States in June.
Brady's course record extends a strong run in 2026 that includes multiple podium finishes in major U.S. trail races. The Western States Golden Ticket positions them for a top finish at the June race.
The race is operated under the UTMB World Series and remains the premier U.S. spring 100-kilometer race. The 2027 Canyons Endurance Runs by UTMB are scheduled for April 23-24, 2027.
